WE ENVISION THE 10 DAYS OF CONNECTION MOVEMENT GROWING FROM LOCAL TO GLOBAL

Year after year, hosts have joined us to activate our community from May 1 - 10. Our city leads have dedicated themselves to finding joy in celebrating our differences and uniting in our shared humanity.

We encourage more cities, across the globe, to join us in this movement.

Miami

Miami is where the 10 Days of Connection all began. In late 2016, leaders from six Miami-based organizations heard locals expressing a need for stronger relationships, deeper understanding, widespread kindness, and increased empathy. These leaders - Roberta Shevin (MCCJ), Nancy Ancrum (Miami Herald), Stephanie Sylvestre (The Children’s Trust), Rebecca Mandelman and Matthew Beatty (The Miami Foundation), Claudia Grillo and Tammy Klingler  (United Way of Miami-Dade), and Rebecca Fishman Lipsey (Radical Partners) - came together and decided to take action.

Broward

From 2018 to 2022, the 10 Days of Connection expanded to Broward County, Miami’s neighbor to the north under the leadership of Cori Flam Meltzer. Locals in Broward had the opportunity to connect across lines of differences, making the 10 Days of Connection a regional endeavor across South Florida.
