What is the Connection Movement?

A community-wide movement founded in Miami in 2017 with the goal of connecting locals from varied backgrounds to build a stronger and healthier community. It is powered by hundreds of leaders and produced by Radical Partners.

The Purpose

This 10-day-long movement urges locals to connect with others who are not like themselves. Together with hundreds of hosting partners, we facilitate connection experiences (free events) that fight divisiveness by bringing people together to learn and talk about topics that are usually taboo, including:

1) Religion 2) Politics 3) Race, Ethnicity and National Origin 4) Diverse Abilities 5) Sex and Gender 6) Money and Income 7) Health and Wellness 8) Age and generations 9) Beliefs and values 10) Togetherness, Connection, and Community.

The 10 Days of Connection sparks conversations, meaningful collaborations, and long-lasting connections.

The Connection Movement Is:

Powered by Hundreds of Leaders and organizations

With Dozens of Free Connection Experiences

To Engage Thousands of Locals

And Celebrate our Differences!

How do we do it?

WE GALVANIZE

WE HOST OPPORTUNITIES TO CONNECT

WE ASK LOCALS TO SHOW UP.

ALL TOGETHER WE CELEBRATE OUR DIFFERENCES ONWARD!

a Host Committee of more than 150 leaders and organizations (from the community, non-profit, public and private sector) that activates their local communities from May 1 - 10.

Hosts ORGANIZE events, also known as Connection Experiences, for the community to show up and learn from different topics that are considered taboo and tend to divide us.

From May 1st-10th we encourage everyone to SHOW UP to Connection Experiences around different topics.

These are safe spaces for people to connect across lines of difference. Connection Experiences are meant to be enjoyed at varying levels of intensity (light, medium, Intense, and very Intense); however people are ready.

The goal of the 10 Days of Connection is for everybody to learn from and about others, fight divisiveness and CELEBRATE our differences beyond the 10 Days.

We encourage hosts to continue the conversation with participants after May 10th, by providing opportunities to volunteer, donate, become ambassadors of their organizations, and/or follow the work of the leaders thorough social media!
