EVERYONE IS INVITED TO HELP SHAPE THIS MOVEMENT.

Year after year, hosts have joined us to activate our community from May 1 - 10.

To date, 406+ community organizations and leaders have already raised their hands to host connection experiences that unite us through kindness, empathy, and solidarity.

Let’s keep the momentum going.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW TO BE A

10 DAYS OF CONNECTION HOST:

All Connection Experiences are aiming to build or shape:

Connected Communities

By encouraging all locals to learn about a topic that tend to divide us and engage in acts of connection, to build empathy, increase understanding, and refocus on our shared humanity.

United Communities

By fostering increased collaboration through cross-cultural, multi-generational, cross-sector, and geographical collaboration that champion exchange, and celebrating our cities’ rich diversity.

SOLUTIONS

Active Communities

By promoting a more connected citizenry actively engaged in addressing community issues through volunteering, donating, and/or participating in public interest solutions.

Safer Communities

By feeling proud and powerful, celebrating that we all belong everywhere because of our unique differences.

Prosperous Communities

By cultivating power sharing experiences through skills development around diverse topics led by the experts (from local nonprofit organizations, to elected officials, academic leaders, entrepreneurs, and more!).

TOPICS

In Year 8, we’re continuing to have deep and meaningful conversations about the topics that tend to divide us the most:

Politics

Religion

Race,Ethnicity & National Origin
Diverse Abilities
Sex,
Gender & Sexuality
Beliefs & Values
Mental Health

Age & Generation
Money & Income
Togetherness, Connection & Community

Intensity Levels

Connection Experiences are safe spaces for people to connect across lines of difference. They are meant to be enjoyed at varying levels of intensity, however you’re ready.

Here’s how to gauge whether you will organize a light, medium, intense, or very intense event:

Light

Medium

Intense

Very Intense

We observe.

It feels nice and pleasant to learn new things.

One's truths are questioned

when exposed to new perspectives. It leaves you thinking...

It makes us feel uncomfortable.

One would want to learn more and have more conversations right after.

One would need a few hours (or days) to recover.

It gets personal, questions identities, and it might affect relationships.
