Mariale Avilan is a Venezuelan mom, translator, interpreter and choir singer who loves to read stories to children about her native country and its flora and fauna.

For far too long, social impact entrepreneurs of color have had their stories told for them by the media, by stakeholders and by others. It's time social impact entrepreneurs of color reclaim their own narratives and tell their own stories.

Storytelling is a powerful tool to connect on our humanity and to realize that just like our LEAP graduates, we’ve all benefited from second chances. LEAP and The Thumb Fighter are bringing together South Florida locals for an evening of storytelling. Attendees will have the opportunity to share a 5 minute personal story of a time when they got a second chance. It doesn’t matter how big or small, we all have a story of a time when we got another shot.

Girl Scouts is bringing together girls and women of all ages from South Florida for a multi-generational night of storytelling over a campfire with s'mores. We know there are thousands of Girl Scouts alums in South Florida but rarely do we have the opportunity for them to come together. We hope this event will be a way for girls and women of all ages and backgrounds to connect with each other and reconnect with their Girl Scout experience.

The evening will be focused on sharing stories of survivorship and resilience to inspire and educate others.
