Gilda’s Club of South Florida and Sharsheret are bringing together Black and Jewish survivors of breast cancer along with their allies to explore how breast cancer disproportionately affects both of these communities. The evening will be focused on sharing stories of survivorship and resilience to inspire and educate others.

The Friends of the Stirling Road Library Group is bringing together South Florida locals for an afternoon for a good ole sing-a-long. Something magical will happen with Library Director Bill Fritz, as we sing songs from the ‘60s and ‘70s. Music is more than just a common pleasure. New studies reveal how it can work to create a sense of group identity.
United Way of Miami-Dade is hosting a movie night showing For Once in My Life, a film about the Spirit of Goodwill Band which is made up of musicians with a wide range of mental and physical disabilities. Get inspired and learn how this unique group turned their disabilities into a driving force to overcome obstacles by getting inside look into their day-to-day lives, concert footage and behind the scenes. The film producer and some of the movie starts will be in attendance. Popcorn and soda will be served. In the spirit of coming together, movie goers are encouraged to bring a dish representative of their culture to share with guests. Hors d'oeuvres will be served.
The YWCA invites all South Florida Locals from all walks of life for an interfaith breakfast to have a conversation about social justice and how we all can play a role in ending the over-policing, profiling, and criminalization of youth. At this interfaith breakfast, we aim to unite religious groups, schools and social services. Join us as we connect through our shared humanity and find solutions to save our youth.
