The Florida Association for Infant Mental Health (FAIMH) is bringing together Miami residents to join us to learn about children's mental health, including a screening of RESILIENCE, a powerful film about a dangerous biological syndrome caused by abuse and neglect during childhood. Trailblazers in pediatrics, education and social welfare are using cutting-edge science and field-tested therapies to protect children from the insidious effects of toxic stress—and the dark legacy of a childhood that no child would choose. Then, they are invited to stay for lunch and connect with providers and organizations in our community who are providing these critical mental health support services.
The YWCA invites all South Florida Locals from all walks of life for an interfaith breakfast to have a conversation about social justice and how we all can play a role in ending the over-policing, profiling, and criminalization of youth. At this interfaith breakfast, we aim to unite religious groups, schools and social services. Join us as we connect through our shared humanity and find solutions to save our youth.
The Friends of the Stirling Road Library Group and the South Florida Juggling Academy is bringing together South Florida kids for an afternoon of juggling to connect kids ages 10 years and up. At this intergenerational program, participants are guaranteed to learn how to juggle while interacting with ANYONE open to acquiring a fun, exciting skill.
