Islamic Foundation of South Florida is bringing together South Florida locals for an educational evening on the topic of Ramadhan. There are many misconceptions about Islam that are encouraged by those wishing to create divisiveness and our goal is to share knowledge and build bridges rather than walls. Join us for dinner after the program and get connected.
Coalition of South Florida Muslim Organizations (COSMOS) is inviting all South Florida Locals to take part of their open house to experience Iftar, the breaking of their fast during Ramadan. (Muslims fast from Dawn to Dusk for 30 days during the month of Ramadan -May 6th through June 5.) COSMOS is hosting this event to stand up against Islamophobia, present the true meaning of Islam and Muslim Culture, as well as giving locals the opportunity to connect with their Muslim neighbors. After breaking the fast with dates, water, and fruits, attendees will also observe a short moment of Muslim prayers and conclude with free dinner.
Step outside of your food comfort zone! Join Vismaya Rubin (Living in GRATITUDE Today) and Sandra Hanesworth (FunNapped) for an evening of FunVersations, connecting with local South Florida people, and creating community. Break bread with some new friends and try some local Jamaican food for your first time! Our goal is to bring people together who don't know each other, so feel free to bring a friend or two. Step outside of yourself and learn something new about YOU and the people in our community! Food and drinks are available for purchase. Please come hungry!
The Children's Movement of Florida, in partnership with Miami Children's Initiative, invites all South Florida locals to connect on a deeper level and share the challenges Miamians face in giving children the best start possible. We will watch excerpts of the No Small Matter documentary and share our different experiences and perspectives on the importance of the first years of a human life.
