Entrepreneurship can drive positive change in our society. In order to succeed, early stage companies need a community. Communities help founders thrive by providing them with great ideas, feedback, support and becoming their first customers! 1MillionCups is an inclusive and supportive front door to our local entrepreneurial ecosystem. For this connection themed 1Million Cups event, we are bringing together social impact ventures and leaders for a morning of pitches and conversation.

#1MCMiami is a bi-weekly event sponsored by the Knight Foundation and hosted at The Idea Center at Miami Dade College in partnership with Radical Partners, Refresh Miami, Space called Tribe, Building.Co, Venture Cafe and WIN Lab Miami. The purpose of the program is to provide a safe space for entrepreneurs to support one another with feedback and connections.

We are looking "connection themed" startups to apply to pitch at the event. Apply here!

Once the startups are selected, the format is as follows:

  • Presenters prepare a 6-minute educational presentation and engage in 20 minutes of feedback and questioning after they present.

  • Entrepreneurs gain insight into possible ways they can improve their businesses, gather real-time feedback, connect with a community that truly cares about their progress, and walk away feeling like they have advanced their business.

  • The audience also learns a great deal from the presentations. Whether this is through passively listening or deeply engaging with the entrepreneurs, there is much to learn every week from these dynamic and diverse communities.

Free parking is available at the MDC parking deck, 560 NE 2nd Ave. Let the attendant know you are there to attend 1 Million Cups at the Idea Center.
